Your donation helps to provide vital care to our rescue animals. All funds received though donations help provide essential veterinary care. Some of the dogs coming into our rescue have illnesses or injuries needing treatment. All receive necessary vaccinations, heartworm detection, treatment and/or prevention, spay or neuter, and parasite control. Help us to help them. No gift is too small to make a difference!
Do you want to make a real difference in the life of a homeless dog? The RAGS’ shepherds need you! We are working together to build a dedicated team of rescue volunteers. Our fostering volunteers are the heart and core of our rescue work. Without them, we could not fulfill our rescue mission.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a dog in need flourish as the result of the love and care provided to them in their foster home. If you can provide a safe and stable environment for a rescue dog and would like to join the RAGS family, we’d love to hear from you.
Foster dogs have different personalities and needs. One dog may need a lot of companionship while another is more independent. Other dogs are less active and some enjoy invigorating walks. Some dogs require obedience training or need an adjustment period to learn to be an ideal family member in their new home. Others will require veterinary care to regain health and get ready for their new home. Our foster volunteers work with and get to know their foster dog well. This information allows RAGS to better match the dog with a prospective adoptive family.
As a volunteer foster guardian, you will be part of the RAGS team. Your needs and abilities are taken into account during the process of selecting the right dog to foster in your home. Once you become part of the RAGS family the experience and resources of your fellow volunteers will be available to assist you when you need it.
Fostering is the most important work that a rescue volunteer can do. Fostering makes it possible for dogs to find their forever family. Fostering helps to save lives.
