Help save the life of a German Shepherd!
Events are important activities in the life of RAGS and its dogs. Throughout the year, RAGS participates in various events to introduce our wonderful, adoptable German Shepherd dogs to event goers. Events are are great opportunities to socialize and have some fun. At the same time it gives these great dogs a chance to get out and about for meet and greets.
RAGS is a Midwest German Shepherd rescue organization located in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. We are a small group of volunteers with a common goal: to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome German Shepherd Dogs (and mixed breed shepherds). The reasons for animal homelessness are many, and seldom reflect on the behavior, temperament or physical condition of the animal needing rescue. Pet owners who have lost their job, home, marriage, or health are often faced with a need to relinquish their animal companion. Many of the shepherds in our rescue were admitted to shelters after being picked up as strays by animal control officers or concerned citizens. After we get to know these former strays, it is clear in most cases that they were once family pets that lost their way and were never found or reclaimed by their former family.
